Kukua begins with local empowerment. We believe that transformation should come from within. That’s why we focus on development issues identified and voiced by communities. We train and empower local change makers, community members and authorities.
Safety and Sustainability are at the core of our projects in Zanzibar.
Safe walks
We keep children safe from early childhood death by traffic accidents, with comprehensive education programs, capacity building for schools and communities, as well as dynamic awareness-raising campaigns.
Safe Kids
We prevent child abuse and protect victims with a comprehensive program that includes school-based education and a collaboration with a network on the ground responders dedicated to fighting child abuse.
Safe cities
We join forces with the local population to build safe, inclusive and sustainable surroundings through community participation in collaboration with international development institutions and companies.
